CEBU CITY, Philippines  — Health authorities from Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) and Cebu City Medical Center (CCMC) have already expressed their readiness in accommodating dengue patients with the onset of the rainy season, as dengue cases are expected to increase drastically.

Dr. Lee James Maratas, head of the Pediatric Department of CCMC, together with Dr. James Chin of VSMMC during a recent forum here both announced that the two hospitals are ready to handle dengue cases despite a shortage of medical personnel.

Maratas and Chin disclosed that even if there is a shortage of medical staff during this specific season, their hospitals are doing their best to accommodate as many patients as they can and prioritize those who are badly affected to reduce mortality rate.
