PNP-military force in Negros scores
BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occ., Philippines — Marilyn Badayos, a suspected rebel leader, was arrested last June 18 in this city’s Omars Pension House, in a joint operation conducted by Bacolod City Police Office and members of the 303rd Infantry Brigade.
Badayos, a resident of Barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City, is also known to use as alias the names Jona, Mina and Eunice. She is a top-ranking member of the rebel New People’s Army (NPA) operating in southern Negros Oriental.
Her official position is Secretary of the Southeast Front of the Komiteng Rehiyonal Sentral Bisayas (KRSB). She reportedly replaced the position of her brother, Danilo Badayos upon the latter’s arrest last October 2010.
Marilyn Bayados’s arrest was based on a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Ananson Jayme of Regional Trial Court Branch 63, Bayawan City, Negros Occidental for the crime of rebellion with case number 969. This is the same warrant of arrest issued last Jan. 14, 2010 that led to the arrest of Danilo Badayos in October, 2010.
Bayados is currently detained at Station 4, this city, and is awaiting proper filing of charges against her.
Recovered in her possession when arrested were documents deemed of high intelligence value, assorted letters and personal belongings.
In a statement, Central Command, Lt.Col. Christopher Tampus said the involvement of Badayos in the incidents including the killing of Quenciano Rendoque last October 04, 2010 and the informant in Brgy. Basiao, San Jose, Negros Oriental will also be investigated.
