CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines — Samar-Officials and employees of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Samar’s Samar 2nd District Engineering Office welcomed on Monday its new district engineer who was installed in rites at the DPWH District Office here.

Engineer Rolando M. Asis, who heads the DPWH Region 8 office, designated Engineer Nestor Pagasartonga as new District Engineer of the Samar 2nd Engineering District Office, after he was appointed by DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson.

Assistant Regional Director of DPWH 8, Engineer Edgar Tabacon who is also concurrent DPWH 8 District Engineer, turned over the functions and responsibilities to Engineer Pagasartonga.

Earlier, Pasartonga had served as District Engineer of the DPWH’s Northern Samar 1st Engineering Office in Catarman, Northern Samar for two years before he was appointed as Chief of Staff of the DPWH Regional Office in Region 8. He will be assisted by Engineer Ruben De los Reyes who has been DPWH’s Assistant District Engineer in the regional office for several years now.
