P91-M infrastructure facilities to support projects in Capiz ARCs readied
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) -– Infrastructure facilities worth P91 million intended to support projects in two Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) in Capiz are being readied.
Carlette Pretta, Information Officer of the Department of Agrarian Reform in Capiz disclosed that these were already approved for implementation in the ABALA ARC of Sapian town and the Sto. Niño-Carmencita ARC of President Roxas municipality.
She said the amount approved by the DAR Central Project Management Office under the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project (ARISP) Phase 3 will be for a package of projects, namely farm-to-market roads, post-harvest facilities, potable water supply, irrigation facilities, agriculture and agribusiness development and institutional development.
The ABALA ARC, which will get a share from a P38-million fund, is comprised of Brgys. Agtatacay Norte and Sur, Bilao, Lonoy, and Agsilab while that of the President Roxas ARC will get P53-million worth of support projects.
In President Roxas, Pretta said cooperative-managed swine breeding and fattening as well as native chicken production projects under the Agri-Agra (agriculture-agrarian) component are now being implemented.
She also informed that the funding release for other components will depend on the completion of feasibility studies and work program for each project being prepared by the DAR and pertinent local government units.
Pretta said the ARC in Dumalag town is awaiting the review results from the CPMO after having been subjected to validation for its P43-million proposed projects for the AGRACA ARC composed of Brgys. San Agustin, San Rafael and Sta. Carmen.
Meanwhile, DAR Provincial head Regina Caspillo is citing the cooperation of concerned LGUs in approving aforesaid projects aimed at benefiting communities.
She explained that the implementation of said projects is in line with Program Beneficiaries Development (PBD), one of three major components in the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program which is marking its 23rd anniversary this month.
