Iloilo City mayor waives SOCA
ILOILO CITY (PNA) – Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog prefers not to deliver his first State of the City address (SOCA) to mark his first year in office.
Mabilog said his first year accomplishments were not yet visible for the Ilonggos as he believed that more good things would happen before he delivers his second SOCA next year.
“They could not yet feel and appreciate what I have done in the past year but it doesn’t mean that I have done nothing. I will make sure that if I deliver my SOCA next year, it’s something that we could all proud of ”, he said.
But, the mayor however, still wants to emphasize some of his achievements like the successful Charter Day celebration in August last year, the near realization of the Iloilo City Community College, good governance, rofessionalism and the latest gold award and citation of the Iloilo River Development Project at the 2010 International Awards for Liveable Communities (Livcom).
On the other hand, Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor, Sr. will deliver his first State of the Province Address (SOPA) within this month of July.
Defensor said he is ready on his SOPA that will enumerate his accomplishments, including the latest increase of the capitol job-hire employees effective July and his campaign against all forms of illegal activities in the province.
