Demolition guidelines
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Human Rights said law enforcers should be properly guided in carrying out demolition and relocation operations in order to prevent human rights violations.
Rosales said that recent demolition activities in Metro Manila and Davao have resulted in injuries on people, both members of the demolition team and residents.
“It's not only in Davao City that has a problem on demolition operation. Even the recent operations in Novaliches, Pasig, and other places faced problems. The right to adequate and decent housing is the problem of informal settlers by the millions all over the country,” the CHR said.
The CHR said it will come up with comprehensive human rights guidelines that will affect all particular government agencies in full enforcement of the law.
