LTO-6 tops in revenue collection
ILOILO CITY, Philippines (PIA) – The Land Transportation Office in Region 6 (LTO-6) has been recognized as the best regional office for 2010, besting the other 15 regional offices in the country.
Gerard Camiña, LTO-6 director said the office of his office emerged the best in terms of exemplary performance in all three major categories, namely, innovativeness, revenue target collection and good governance.
“LTO-6 is the only region which got 60 points in innovativeness while others got zero,” Camiña said.
He said the office has implemented programs including having all documents in electronic digital file, including retrieval and storage, hence being able to provide data on real time.
The data required are easily cascaded through emails down all the district offices.
He added that the office is ISO certified, its licensing process aligned with ISO requirements, and at par with ISO offices worldwide.
Camiña informed that their time line for licensing is 30 minutes for student licensing, 30 minutes or less for plain renewal, while two hours for brand new license.
As far as revenue collection is concerned, LTO-6 used to earn only about P200 million a few years ago, but now it has increased revenue to P707 million, a milestone according to Camiña.
