MANILA, Philippines — An official of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) Saturday clarified that the list of 54 congressmen who supposedly got a share of charity funds from the Small Town Lottery (STL) revenue did not come from the agency, Assistant General Manager for Operations Remeliza Jovita M. Gabuyo of the On-Line Lottery Sector (PCSO-OLLS) said Saturday.

PCSO-OLLS is in-charge of the STL, which will soon be replaced by the PCSO Loterya ng Bayan (PLB).

"I just want to make it clear the published list is not from the PCSO. No one from my staff released the supposed list of congressmen who were said to have received a share of charity funds from the STL revenue. Personally, I am not even aware of the names because STL operators remit the congressional districts' shares directly," said Gabuyo.

The PCSO official made the clarification in the wake of the angry reactions from some congressmen who were included the list but did not actually accept STL funds.

Gabuyo is also concurrent manager of Southern Tagalog & Bicol Region Department (PCSO-OLLS-STBL).

This developed as the PCSO Board chaired by Margarita P. Juico issued a statement Friday citing the importance of the agency's partnership with congressmen.
