$4-B Korean business in Cavite expected to generate 2,500 jobs
TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite, Philippines — The four-day business trip of Governor Jonvic Remulla and some other Cavite officials to South Korea is expected to generate investments worth $4 billion and jobs for 2,500 individuals in the province.
The 43-year-old governor, some provincial board members and administration officers were scheduled to leave the country last night for a meeting with officials, particularly those engaged in solar panel business, in Seoul, the South Korean capital.
South Korea is one of the leading manufacturers of solar panel, an alternative energy source instrument, using sun as power. Solar panel is in demand in the country, considering the high cost of electricity.
Remulla has been inviting businessmen in Asian countries and elsewhere to invest in Cavite since he became a governor in 2010. Jo-ann Nazareno, Provincial Information and Community Affairs Department (PICAD) head, said that the governor has met with business officials in South Korea thrice and Taiwan, Singapore and Mainland China once for the investment ventures.
