DSWD 6 activates cash-for-work program for poor families
ILOILO CITY, Iloilo, Philippines— The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)’s office in Region 6 has released funds from its cash-for-work program for the benefit of fisher folks and poor families.
DWSD Regional Office 6 public information officer, Alma Jornadal said the biggest share was released to Iloilo province, that is, P97,147,952.00 distributed amongst 38, 000 beneficiaries in 44 municipalities.
Pay out started last July 15, 2011. The bulk of support, P8,611,680, went to 3,360 beneficiaries in Carles, Iloilo; followed by Lambunao town, with 2,597 beneficiaries who received P6,656,111.00; and Concepcion town, in the amount of P5,482,257.00 for 2,139 beneficiaries.
Following Iloilo was Negros Occidental province with pay out last July 6, 2011 for 99,860 beneficiaries from 32 municipalities, amounting P55,973,357.00.
Biggest share in the province was availed of by 3,123 beneficiaries in Calatrava town, in the amount of P8,004,249; then Cauayan with 2,344 beneficiaries who received P6,058,932.00; and Kabankalan City in the amount of P5,377,174.00 for 2,098 beneficiaries.
In Guimaras province, pay out of P9,465,150 was made last July 4, 2011 for five municipalities with 3,693 beneficiaries.
In the province of Antique, pay out in the amount of P27,782,920 started July 15, 2011 for 10,840 beneficiaries in 13 municipalities.
The town of Sibalom got the biggest share with P4,692,853.00 for 1,831 beneficiaries followed by Caluya town whose 1,604 beneficiaries received P4,111,052; and the municipality of Hamtik, with 1,777 beneficiaries who got P3,016,651.
