CEBU CITY, Cebu, Philippines — Seeing memorial services as a necessity especially to those who have less in life, seven cooperatives in this province joined hand to create the Fonus Cebu Federation of Cooperatives (FCFC).

FCFC, the first cooperative-owned funeral services in Cebu is composed of the Cebu Peoples Multipurpose Cooperative (MPC), Mandaue City Public Market Vendors MPC, Cordova MPC, Fairchild Cebu MPC, Sibonga MPC, Lamac MPC, and Dumanjug MPC.

The recently formed coop federation aims to cater the funeral needs of its members specially those belonging to the grassroots sector, wanting to have a decent burial for their deceased love ones, yet find it hard to avail of said services due to its high-cost.
