Infrastructure projects

DAPA, Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), in line with the government’s program to provide each Filipino with quality infrastructure facilities, is set to implement 116 various projects in the various villages of Bucas Grande Islands and Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte.

These priority projects include farm-to-market roads, repair and rehabilitation of multi-purpose buildings, water systems, and repair and rehabilitation of village roads.

The P20 million fund for the projects are sourced from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Surigao del Norte 1st District Rep. Francisco T. Matugas.

These projects that will soon be implemented by the Surigao del Norte DPWH 2nd District Engineering Office (SDN II DEO).

As this developed, the DPWH has started implementation of the desilting and excavation of the Osmeña-Dapa Trapezodial Open Channel Project in Poblacion 12, this town.

The project aims to keep the continuous flow of flood waters directly to the sea.

Currently, the SDN II DEO is also implementing under its Calendar Year 2011 Programs of three road projects totaling P64,935,000 on Siargao Island.
