MANILA, Philippines – Following reports that he has moved on from his failed relationship with Melissa Ricks and is now beginning to date, sexy actor Jake Cuenca says he’s not squiring on anyone for now.

“Wala kong dine-date,” came Jake’s flat denial on the issue on “Showbiz News Ngayon,” Aug. 4.

He said he’s not in a rush to find a special someone as “marami pa akong kailangang tuklasin at kilalanin sa sarili ko bago ako makipagrelasyon uli.”

Another issue that Jake addressed is his rumored depression over his lack of projects. This, Jake dispelled with facts.

“Actually I’m gonna be leaving next month. Magte-taping na kami ng bago kong soap opera,” said the actor who had a short but important participation in the Robin Padilla-Bea Alonzo soap, “Guns and Roses.”

“Ang dami-daming maganda na nangyayari sa buhay ko. There’s no reason to be depressed at all.”

Actually, the actor was lying low because he was enjoying his two-week vacation from the limelight.

“Alam n’yo na-enjoy ko itong period na magpahinga. Itong time off, I think two weeks, na-enjoy ko talaga. Sobrang sinulit ko talaga. Sinamahan ko ang pamilya ko.”

Just recently, Jake taped an episode for the 20th anniversary of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” in Barcelona, Spain.

“First time meron akong ginampanan na hindi ko pa nagagawa dati. More than a vacation, talagang trabaho ang pinatunguhan ko sa Barcelona. Pasalamat lang ako sa ‘MMK’ na binigyan ako ng oportunidad na i-represent ang 20th anniversary ng ‘MMK,’” the actor shared.

As to rumors about his ex-girlfriend Melissa’s depression over their breakup, Jake refused to comment.

“Ayoko na magsalita kasi meron na kaming napag-usapan na kung anuman ang relationship namin noon, kung anuman ang pinagdadaanan namin ngayon, amin na lang ‘yon. We’re friends and we’re both moving on.”
