LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines - The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office – La Trinidad has readied another batch of school sites for possible titling.

Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) Head Guillermo Fianza said CENRO La Trinidad covering the areas of Sablan, Tublay, Kapangan, Kibungan, La Trinidad, and Tuba had completed the land survey of 16 schools for deliberation by the Provincial Steering Committee.

These are the Basil Elementary School in Basil, Tublay; Tublay Central School; Lubas Elementary School; Ambiong Elementary School; San Pascual Elementary School; Nangalisan Elementary School; Camp 1 School Site; Tabaan Norte School site; Indaoac Elementary School; Pongayan Elementary School; Datakan School Site; Beleng Belis School Site; Beckel Elementary School; La Trinidad Central School; Lamtang Elementary School; and Talingguroy Elementary School.

In support of the program of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the provincial government organized the Provincial Steering Committee under Administrative Order 2011-11 issued by Governor Nestor Fongwan to supervise and monitor the accomplishment in the processing of documents and other related concerns.

The objective is to fast-track the processing and issuance of presidential proclamations or special patents for untitled school sites.

The province also organized a Provincial Survey Team to assist the DENR’s survey team in conducting the survey of school sites.

Since there is no budget allocation for the program except for land survey, Fianza said Fongwan committed to earmark payment of water analysis fee as prerequisite for titling, adding that it is only in the province where such a steering committee was organized.

The committee, composed of the Department of Education, Department of Health, Department of Public Works and Highways-Benguet Engineering Districts 1 and 2, Provincial Engineering Office, Provincial Health Office and the Environment and Natural Resources – Provincial Governor’s Office, also serves as a one-stop shop for acquiring other required documents such as department clearances of concerned agencies.
