Environment project goes to Laguna
RIZAL, Laguna, Philippines — San Miguel Brewery Inc. (SMB) will hold on Saturday the second run of the month-long celebration of its “Buhayin ang Kalikasan” nationwide program, here.
SMB will join hands with the provincial and local government units led by Laguna Governor E.R. Ejercito, Rizal Mayor Tony Aurelio in planting 500 seedlings of various hard wood species that would be appropriate in the long-term plan in making the Tayak Hill a world-class nature and adventure park.
SMB South Luzon Business Affairs and Communication Officer Toots dela Cruz said close to 200 volunteers, most of whom are SMB employees from South Luzon Area, joined the activity that marked the 2nd year of the company's Buhayin ang Kalikasan project.
The SMB project started with a ceremonial tree-planting activity in Angat River, Sitio Pugpog, Barangay Laog in Angat, Bulacan last week.
Dela Cruz said the program aims to expand its scope and reach by increasing the number of its volunteer employees, mounting initiatives that will also protect and preserve bodies of water, and extending the duration of program implementation.
