TUBOD, Lanao del Norte, Philippines – In its effort to increase the farmers’ farm production, the constituency office of Lanao del Norte Rep. Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA), started a series of crop training in the whole province.

It was learned that some 110 farmers, together with their respective municipal crop specialists, participated in the initial two-day training at the Macapagal Training Center in this capital town over the weekend.

It was also learned that the training focused on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

The participants, who are engaged in corn, banana, coconut, and rice farming, came from various towns of the province.

The training taught the farmers with various methods to reduce the health risks brought about by microbial, physical, and chemical hazards.

It also provided the farmers with practical information on how to safeguard workers’ health through food safety, cleanliness, and discipline.

The farmer-participants were also introduced to the Product Safety Standards to encourage them to ensure the safety of their product.
