MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan, Philippines — Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile graced the celebration of the 433rd founding anniversary of Bulacan the other day and cited this historic province as one of the most progressive provinces in the country with a solid economy.
Speaking at the Capitol Gym as the honored guest of the Governor Wilhelmino Sy Alvarado, Enrile said that the Philippine economy remains strong amidst the economic turmoil now gripping many parts of the world and provinces like Bulacan serves as proof of that stability.
Citing the annual revenue of the province at more than P3 billion, he also commended the province for developing its tourism industry since Bulacan has been a vital part of the history of the country.
The Senate President called on Philippine educators to instill to the minds of the younger generation the historic significance and contribution of the province of Bulacan to the nation’s history. “Let us unite for the development interest of the country,” he said.
