MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan, Philippines — Upon the signal of church bells in Bulacan Friday morning, government workers, public servants and volunteer groups began a clean-up drive and search-and-destroy operation against dengue-causing mosquitoes.
Governor Wilhelmino M. Sy Alvarado joined the all-out campaign against to rid the province of aedes aegypti mosquitoes that saw the involvement of the church, schools, and households in clearing clogged waterways such as drainage canals, creeks, and rivers.
Alvarado said the program aims to promote not just awareness on the dreaded disease but a proactive stance to combat the spread of dengue by being responsible citizens.
