Governor pushes 'Love Pangasinan' campaign
LINGAYEN, Philippines — In line with the provincial government’s "I Love Pangasinan" campaign, the governor has appealed to all Pangasinense youth to embrace the culture and heritage of the province.
Gov. Amado Espino Jr. said the youth should engage in patriotic deeds that will make Pangasinan livable and lovable once again.
Espino delivered his message before more than 3,000 students of the Daniel Maramba National High School in Sta. Barbara town during the campus tour and school-based launching of the I Love Pangasinan campaign on September 22.
The governor said love for the province can be shown through the preservation of Pangasinan dialect which symbolizes genuine patriotism among Pangasinenses.
He also said that Pangasinenses, which according to statistics has reached around 2.8 million strong, must profess their love for the province by taking pride of their roots.
“Dapat tayo muna ang maging turista sa sarili nating lugar at dapat gawin natin itong kaibig-ibig,” Espino said.
Espino commended the efforts of the academe for the support that they have given as he likewise added that the schools play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of the youth who are considered the hope of the motherland.
