Cebu gets P298-M road projects
TOLEDO CITY, Cebu, Philippines – Representative Pablo John Garcia (3rd District, Cebu) recently disclosed that the Third District Engineering Office of the Province of Cebu has gained a bigger share of the 2012 Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) 7 budget.
Said district will be getting a P298- million budget for 2012, an amount which Garcia said could enable him realize his pledge to fully connect all the local government units (LGUs) in his district with a smooth road. The aforesaid amount is part of the P125.5-billion national budget of the DPWH recently approved by Congress.
The Cebu congressman said the first tranche amounting to the P5 million he had earlier pledged for barangay road projects in Toledo had been released to the Third District Engineering Office.
His statement assured Looc Norte Barangay Captain Amelito Santuya that the concreting of approximately one-kilometer national road in his barangay will be finished this year.
Mayor Alan Adlawan added this would connect them to the town of Tuburan with a fully concreted or asphalted national road. This will also add up to the huge number of kilometers of road that Garcia had concreted or asphalted in the Cebu’s third district.
