Poster contest

BUTUAN CITY, Philippines – The Caraga Conference for Peace and Development (CCPD) in partnership with Bishops-Ulama Conference Youth Desk will host an On the Spot Poster Making in Mindanao on Oct. 8 at Bishops Place in Barangay Ampayon, this city. Participating in the poster-making contest will be youths, particularly those coming from Caraga.

The poster making activity is in line with the peace and development in Mindanao. The theme of this year’s contest is “Mindanao Week of Peace”: Common World between us and You: Love of God, Love of Neighbor.” (Mike U. Crismundo)

Football festival

BUTUAN CITY – The Butuan-Agusan del Norte Football Association under the leadership of Butuan City Vice Mayor Lawrence Fortun, will hold a 1st Banfa Football Festival 2011 at Butuan City Sport Complex on Oct. 8 and 9. Taking part are over 100 football teams from all over Mindanao competing in the 7-a-side football festival.

Football clubs from the six cities and five provinces in Caraga and from as far as cities of Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Genereal Santos, Cotabato, Marawi, Iligan, Tagum, Gingoog and Zamboanga, and also the provinces of Bukidnon and Misamis. (Mike U. Crismundo)

Work slots

TANDAG CITY, Surigao del Sur – The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) will offer 383 slots of employment opportunities in time with the semestral break from Oct. 7 to Nov. 15 in this city and Surigao del Sur province.

The project is under the Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) and open to poorest of the poor and deserving college students in the city and the province. Interested students can go to the nearest DoLE office for accreditation. (Mike U. Crismundo)

Jobs fair

CABADBARAN CITY, Agusan del Norte – A “2011 Mega Jobs Fair” in Agusan del Norte is set at Candelaria Institute Covered Court at this newly created city on Oct. 14.

The fair is spearheaded by the office of Agusan del Norte 2nd District Rep. Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante-Matba.

Interested applicants must bring their respective resume, transcript of records or diploma, cedula, birth certificate, barangay and NBI clearances. (Mike U. Crismundo)

Moral recovery

BUTUAN CITY, (PIA) – The 13th National Moral Recovery Program (MRP) Congress is set on November 9-11 at the Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center. As per Civil Service Commission (CSC) Announcement No. 26, series 2011, all heads of constitutional bodies, departments, bureaus, and agencies of the national government, Local Government Units (LGUs), Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) with original charters, and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) are directed attend and take part in the event.

In a written statement, MROFI Chairman Job Sar Diasanta said that agency’s representatives, including all Moral Recovery Officers, Moral/Spiritual/Values Advocates/Promoters/Human Resource Development Officers are also enjoined to participate in the said seminar. A registration fee of R3,500 will be charged each participant to cover food expenses, hotel accommodation, kit/handout materials, a tour of Butuan City, honorarium of resource persons, supplies/materials/transportation of the secretariat.
