TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte, Philippines (PIA) — Officers and members of the Leyte Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) are set to attend the 37th Philippine Business Conference and Exposition (PBC&E) to be held October 12-14, 2011 at historic Manila Hotel.

LCCI president, Willy Julio said the chamber is “looking forward to attending the annual conference.”

Over the years, the PBC&E has been the prime venue for the government and private sector leaders to meet and hold a dialogue on key policy issues regarding business and the economy, Mr. Julio said.

“This is an opportune time to express the concerns of the business sector in Leyte and take part in formulating policies and programs designed to move and strengthen the development of the Philippine economy,” he said.

This year’s business conference is a milestone for the LCCI as the Leyte provincial government will receive its third trophy for being the country’s Most Business-Friendly Province at the conference’s closing program.

This year’s conference theme, “ONE GLOBAL FILIPINO: Driving Partnership, Sharpening our Competitive Edge” highlights public-private partnership as a winning formula for competitive business, higher growth and sustained economic development.

President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III will deliver the Keynote Address at the concluding session of the conference. He will also present the awards to winners of the Most Business- Friendly Local Government Units of the country in the provincial, city and municipal levels.

Key government officials and renowned distinguished and influential businessmen in the country will also be present to provide insights and comprehensive information about key policy issues involved with Philippine business development.
