JAEN, Nueva Ecija, Philippines — The San Beda priests of the Order of St. Benedict have donated P100,000 and four boats to families here who suffered from severe floods that inundated at least 85 percent this municipality.

Priests, students and the civil society also delivered relief and rescue equipment, house rebuilding materials and goods, Mayor Santiago Austria said Tuesday.

Austria said the local government put up a counterpart to purchase housing materials from the said donation.

Fr. Renbert Tumbali, chaplain of the San Beda College of Law, said they found joy from the hope that reflects on the faces of recipients, who trooped to the compound of the municipal hall to receive the “manna from heaven.”

Tumbali led San Beda law students who brought truckloads of relief packs over the weekend, coinciding with relief operation by the Rotary Club of Cavite Metro led by its president Cynthia Ferrer as well as scouts from the University of Perpetual Help.
