More than 1,000 guard Antipolo
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Philippines — More than 1,000 police, military and civilian peacekeepers were deployed in and outside the cemeteries all over this city as part of the observance of All Saint’s Day.
Superintedent Rodino Elfa, chief of police here, said augmentation from the Philippine Army (PA) were scheduled to be deployed starting Tuesday to maintain order in at least three cemeteries located in the rebel-infested and far-flung upland villages in this city.
Majority of those assisting the police were from various civic action groups; barangay tanods; Barangay Peace Keeping Action Team (BPATS) members and the city’s Public Order and Safety Department personnel of the city.
Medical personnel of the city and the province, Philippine Red Cross-Antipolo Chapter and other volunteers were part of the groups stationed in the Public Assistance Centers located in all the cemeteries in the city.
