Livelihood aid
TUBOD, Lanao del Norte, Philippines – Three towns in Lanao del Norte are set to benefit from a learning, livelihood, and employment assistance program. The assistance came from the Alternative Learning, Livelihood, and Employment Assistance Program (ALLEAP) of Job1 Global, Inc., 2nd Congressional District of Lanao del Norte, and the provincial government.
The three towns to benefit from the program were named as Kapatagan, Lala, and Salvador. Under the program, learners will undergo an intensive 10-month computer-based training to enable them to gain the basic knowledge normally provided by a six-year elementary or four-year secondary education. Tourism drive
MAMBAJAO, Camiguin – The province of Camiguin has enticed more visitors, both foreign and local, after Mount Hibok-Hibok was introduced as a place of challenge to climbers.
While most tourists only see the island’s fantastic beaches, not to mention the hot and cold spring waters and waterfalls the place has to offer, there is actually more to see and experience especially now that climbers discovered that Mount Hibok-Hibok is also a haven for environmentalists.
It was learned that Mount Hibok-Hibok had been proclaimed a protected area under the National Integrated Protected Areas System, and is officially called “Hibok-Hibok Natural Monument.” (Mike Crismundo)
Record upgrade
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) along with the various cities and municipalities in Northern Mindanao adopted an integrated computerized information system in an effort to improve land-related services.
With this joint undertaking, the proliferation of duplicate and spurious titles, and other issues on land records management will be eradicated. The computerization of the land records will not only assist DENR in improving its land-related services, but increases the revenue collection of the local government units through precise land information with General Information Service applications. Medical services
TRENTO, Agusan del Sur – The medical program of the provincial government and the legislative constituency offices of the District 1 and District 2 continuously benefited a big number of Agusanons – especially those living in far-flung communities.
It was learned that the villagers not only benefited from free medicines but also received free medical consultations and other hospital services. In the recent culmination of the National Children’s Month celebration, children benefited from the distribution of free medicines. Majority of the children came from the Trento West Central Elementary School here. (Mike Crismundo)
