CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Soldiers of two Army divisions of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Mindanao have joined forces, not to fight the enemies of the state but to launch the “Bayanihan sa mga Barangay” project.

The project was lauded by local government unit (LGU) officials in this capital city.

It was learned that the activity started in Barangay Lumbia with an opening ceremony, wherein LGUs welcomed the officers and men from the host 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division (ID), and 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division.

The area of responsibility of the 1st ID covers the Zamboanga Peninsula, and some parts in Central Mindanao.

After the opening program, the soldiers immediately conducted the “Bayanihan sa mga Barangay.”

Some of these include the feeding program, free medical consultation and check up, cataract, massage, haircut, and joint cleanup drive. (Mike U. Crismundo)
