Engineers' gab
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Some 5,000 civil engineers from the various parts of the country will gather here from November 17 to 19, 2011, to participate in the three-day 37th National Convention of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) at a famous restaurant and convention center at the Limketkai Center.
Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Rogelio L. Singson will be the keynote speaker of the PICE confab.
The participating civil engineering delegates will come from the 97 chapters of the group in the country.
This year’s theme “PICE at the CREST for Competitiveness, Resilience and Transparency” will present special lectures on the latest and future engineering works.
The PICE National Board of Directors headed by Vice Chancellor Dr. Benito M. Pacheco of the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City, will take charge of the program.
Renowned civil engineers from six specialty divisions of the PICE – Project Management and Construction Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Engineering, and Environmental and Energy Engineering – are expected to provide special lectures during the three-day affair.
