Grenade attack in North Cotabato kills 4, injures 8
MANILA, Philippines — Four people, including two children, died eight others were injured in a grenade attack in Midsayap town in North Cotabato on Wednesday night, a military official said Thursday.
Col. Leopoldo Galon, spokesman of the Eastern Mindanao Command, said the injured victims include a 19-year old pregnant identified as Rhoda Mae Sala who is now the confined at the Dela Cruz Hospital in Libungan town along with four other victims.
Those in the hospital with Sala are 14-year old Isidro Awa, Jr., eight-year old Fransbeth Ansa, five-year old Sofia Ansa and 57-year old Dina Madrigal while those taken to the Midsayap Community Hospital were 12-year old Haydee Paraqueles.
Two other female victims were also taken in another hospital.
“The explosion instantly killed one person while three others died in the hospital, said Galon.
