CCCI mission woos Argentinean traders
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina, Philippines — After successfully meeting their counterparts in Brazil, members of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) currently on a trade mission to South America are all set to meet their counterparts in Argentina.
The Cebu traders will discuss business with their Argentinian counterparts in a two-day business matching session that will start Tuesday at the Marriot Plaza Hotel in Florida, Buenos Aires.
“Businessmen here are looking forward to discuss with us possible business exchange,” CCCI President Samuel Chioson told the Manila Bulletin on Monday, adding that several Argentinian firms have already signed up for the business matching meeting, including Biocosmetica Exel, Bodegas y Vinedos, Kalima Shipping, Picborg, Tega, Angel Peris, Empresa Barbero, Prensas La Mundial, AgroIndustrias Baires, Cosmaca SRL, Sopladora, and Argental.
“This is a great opportunity for the Cebu group to meet their counterparts one-on-one and discuss export and import possibilities,” said Chioson, who also enthused that the first leg of the trade mission in Sao Paulo, Brazil, turned out to be very successful, with Cebu businessmen able to network, exchange contact data and have initial talks about the possibility of business joint ventures with their Brazilian counterparts.
Taking a break from official functions and business meeting Monday, the Cebu trade mission delegation led by Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia on Monday visited the mausoleum of Argentina's most famous woman, Evita Peron, at the Buenos Aires cemetery. The group also visited various tourist spots in Buenos Aires, including the Presidential Palace, and several other historical sites.
