Project to generate 30,000 jobs
CLARK FREEPORT, Philippines – Attorney Felipe Antonio Remollo, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) disclosed Sunday that at least P7 billion investment will pour-in inside the especial eco-nomic zone that will create 30,000 employments once the project will fully operational next year.
Remollo said the realization of the project will push thru January next year, citing that its abundant brightness will boosts business, tourism and sports in the ecozone.
Earlier, the CDC president and the Megaworld chairman Andrew Tan recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) which cost at least P7 billion investment for the complete development of a 550 hectares property were the business complex would be located.
Tan expressed confidence that the retirement homes project will attract domestic and foreign tourist, like Koreans, Japanese including Chinese who frequent come to this premier freeport .
Experiencing the modest and business communities which were established with first-class facilities such as Eastwood City in Quezon City, McKinley Hill in Fort Bonifacio and New Fort in Pasay where Resort World is located in Pasay City, Tan said he intend to bring Clark to the next level.
Architect Hermilyn Cullano, the lady behind the project blueprint, said initial development works will start at the 35 hectares, venue were the first phase of the projects will be erected.
Cullano said the project is divided into three phases. The first phase is the construction of buildings which will house Business Processing and Outsourcing (BPOs).
She said the second phase is the construction of food court, “hawkers” alley, buildings for BPOs and other commercial structures and the third one is for amenities that will complement the businesses locating within the complex.
Megaworld is primarily engaged in developing large-scale mixed-use planned communities, incorporating residential, commercial, educational, and leisure components. Thus, project here, will be located at the former Regional Medical Center of the US Air Force locally known now as “abandoned” hospital in Clarkfield.
Remollo on his part expressed gratitude to Megaworld for bringing into reality his vision for Clark . “Megaworld is not only the pioneer in this kind of business inside the Freeport but it will change the skyline and business climate.”
