DTI Region 3 releases SRPs of 'Noche Buena' food items
MANILA, Philippines — As the Christmas is fast approaching, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Region 3 released Friday suggested retail prices (SRPs) for food products usually bought for the traditional “Noche Buena” feast.
DTI Regional Business Regulation and Consumer Protection Division Chief Ricardo Naguit said this is part of the Aquino government’s efforts of maintaining prices at reasonable levels for the welfare of consumers particularly the typhoon-stricken areas in Central Luzon.
“The DTI is continuously monitoring that the prices of basic commodities as well as Noche Buena products are being sold within the SRP. We want to ensure that there is no sudden increase in those products, especially with the coming of holiday season,” Naguit said.
The DTI Division Chief advised the consumers especially the municipalities and provinces under state of calamities to report to any DTI offices the establishments or stores selling the prime commodities as well as the Noche Buena products higher than the SRP.
