2 men stabbed in Pasig
MANILA, Philippines — Two men, including an employee, were killed over the weekend during two separate stabbing incidents in Pasig City on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, police said Monday.
Reports reaching the Pasig City Police identified the victims as Ronilo Regalario, legal age, single, and a resident of 18, Lourdes Homes, F. Manalo Avenue, Barangay Bambang, Pasig City and Jerry Ocampo, 40, construction worker and a resident of 678 Villa Antonio St., Bambang, Pasig City.
Police said the first stabbing incident was discovered at 10: 45 a.m. Saturday inside Regalario’s apartment unit in Barangay Bambang.
Police Officer 2 (PO2) Harold B. Mangaoil, officer-on-case from the Station Investigation and Detection Management Branch (SIDMB), said Regalario was discovered sprawled on the ground half naked, lying on his back and bathing in his own pool of blood, when his lifeless body was discovered.
Cursory examination showed that the victim, who was wearing blue jogging pants during the time of the inci-dent, sustained a deep stabbed wound on his neck and stabbed wounds on his body.
Mangaoil said that prior to the discovery of the incident; neighbors heard a commotion/loud noise inside the victim’s apartment unit.
Meanwhile, Ocampo was reportedly stabbed dead by two suspects at 4:30 a.m. Sunday in an alley along Purok 4, Villa Antonio, Bambang, Pasig City.
Police said the suspects, who escaped on foot after the incident, were only identified as one “Adiong” and one “Balot.”
Scene-of-the-Crime Operatives (SOCO) later recovered from the crime scene a kitchen knife measuring at least 12 inches.
Police said the victim was taken to the Rizal Medical Center but was pronounced dead on arrival due to a stabbed wound on his back. (Francis T. Wakefield)
