MANILA, Philippines — The police on Monday reported they are not finished yet with investigating the shooting of the Chief of Staff of the Pasay City mayor as they have not yet identified and arrested the gunman.

Albert Paredes, Pasay City Mayor Antonino Calixto's chief of staff, was shot on Friday night inside his residence located along Aurora Compound, Tolentino Street. Investigation showed that Paredes was inside the comfort room when an unidentified man entered his abode.

The gunman appeared and shot Paredes while he was still inside the comfort room. Afterward, the suspect escaped bringing with him the firearm. Later, Paredes’ bodyguard came after doing some errands and saw the bloodied Paredes.

The victim was brought to San Juan De Dios Hospital. He sustained a bullet wound in the left shoulder.

Police are tracking down the gunman. Investigators said the motive could possibly be related to Paredes' work at the Office of the Mayor as he has been focusing on projects against illegal activities involving dangerous drugs.
