COMPOSTELA, Cebu — A mountain barangay in this town north of Cebu City has finally realized its dream of having an irrigation facility that will water farms and benefit several farmers in the area.

The P5-million Mulao Pump Irrigation project, located in the mountain barangay of Mulao, was officially inaugurated and turned over to the Mulao Farmer Irrigators Association, Inc. during a short ceremony recently.

Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia officially turned on the faucet to signal the completion of the irrigation project which has a service area covering 25 hectares. Said project is expected to benefit at least 70 farmer beneficiaries.

The irrigation project was certified completed and in compliance with standards set by the National Irrigation (NIA) Administration Engineering Standards under NIA 7 Acting Regional Manager Diosdado Rosales and Governor Garcia.
