IMUS, Cavite, Philippines — Emmanuel L. Maliksi has promised to institute reforms in this town now that he has returned as mayor.

The 42-year-old Maliksi said he would revive, first and foremost, Imus’ tag as the Flag Capital of the Philippines with the month-long Wagayway Festival and other town’s old traditions that were not done in his absence.

Maliksi also mentioned that he would double his efforts in the maintenance of peace and order in a bid to get rid of what he called “unexplained killings” and thefts and robberies, among other incidents. “We will do our best to make Imus as the most peaceful town,” Maliksi said.

He also cited the programs and financial subsidy for the youth and senior citizens and livelihood and employment, among other priorities of his administration.

Maliksi said he would do his best to improve the municipal office’s performance and services in terms of business, peace and order, education, health, tourism, cleanliness and environment and culture.
