Body found in airport parking lot
MANILA, Philippines — A woman believed to be in her early 20's was found dead at the airport parking lot Wednesday morning while stuffed inside a brown trolley bag.
Airport Assistant General Manager for Emergency and Security Services Maj. Gen. Vicente Guerzon said the trolley bag was discovered by a roving security guard inside the public parking lot of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 yesterday at around 7:45am.
The security guard, Maria Theresa Garbo said she saw the unattended trolley bag left beside the bushes of the parking lot while doing her regular rounds.
Following standard operation procedures, Garbo reported her discovery to the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group (PNP-ASG) to determine if the bag is free from any explosives.
Thinking that the bag was forgotten by a passenger, the lady guard noticed that bag had a tag in the name of a certain "Nepz Aily Bahjin," and had the name paged through the airport's public address system numerous times.
No one came forward for the bag until dog sniffers from the K-9 unit of the PNP-ASG arrived.
The PNP-ASG personnel cordoned off the area where the bag was left and had the bomb-sniffing dog check the bag. When the bag proved negative for explosives, the PNP-ASG approached the bag then laid it down on its side to open the bag.
It was then that the police discovered the remains of the young woman in a fetal position.
The young woman, who was believed to be between 18-26 years of age was wearing a light blue shirt and black tights.
With the discovery of the dead body, a team from the Scene of the Crime Operatives were called to take over the investigation.
After documenting all the of the possible evidences at the crime scene, the body was later brought to the Rizal Funeral Homes in Pasay City for autopsy.
