Antipolo celebrates National Artist Month
ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal, Philippines — Local visual and performing artists from various parts of this city will showcase their artistic creativity as they lead in this city’s celebration of National Artist Month in February.
Based on Proclamation No. 683 declaring every month of February as National Arts Month, the city government is joining the yearly national celebration with its “Pista ng Sining,” said Mayor Danilo Leyble.
The Siyudad ng Antipolo Arts Guild (SINAG), Inc. is this year’s spearheading organization in partnership with the city government, Department of Education Division of Antipolo and the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation.
This local celebration is supported by the Sangguniang Panlungsod, Liga ng mga Barangay, MMLDC, Cloud 9 Resort and Hotel, Tetada Kalimasada International, Seisha Coffeeshop and the Rizal Provincial Government.
This arts activity is a series of events for the whole month of February with the kick off on January 30 with the on-the-spot painting contest for young artists from various public and private elementary and secondary schools and as well as the community youth from 1 to 5 in the afternoon. The opening ceremony will be held at Cloud 9 Resort and Hotel grounds overlooking Metro Manila along Sumulong Highway.
On February 2 at 5 in the afternoon, a major exhibit of the VIVA Sinag Art group entitled “Infinity”, will open at the MMLDC Museum as highlight of the Meralco CEOs Innovative Forum. Featured artists in this group show are Zaldy Arbozo, Armida Francisco, AG Saño, Ramona De La Cruz-Gaston, Othoniel Neri, Marites Diamse-Alcantara, Armenius Aralar and Jerry Jimenez which will run for the whole month of February.
