Pineda To Continue Pampanga Projects
SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga, Philippines — Pampanga Governor Lilia G. Pineda assured her constituents Tuesday that she will continue to work for their basic needs and services particularly on the aspect of health, education, infrastructure, livelihood, among others.
Pineda gave her assurance as she awarded a P1-million grant by the Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE) to some 216 beneficiaries of the Pangkaunlarang Kabuhayan Program of the Provincial Cooperatives and Entrepreneurial Development Office (PCEDO).
She told the group of beneficiaries that the provincial government has been working on the upgrading of hospitals, providing them with new buildings, facilities, equipment and manpower.
The Dr. Andres Luciano District Hospital (formerly Balitucan District Hospital) in Magalang town was upgraded to the tune of P35 million and was recently inaugurated. It features a birthing station to serve pregnant women in the area and neighboring barangays.
The governor also disclosed that this hospital had been in need of improvement for the past 42 years, and it was only recently that it got the upgrading that it deserved.
“The P30 million came from the provincial government while the P5 million for the birthing station came from the Department of Health (DoH).”
The governor also announced that the Arayat District Hospital is undergoing renovation and is now 70% complete. She added that the renovation costs P14 million and is expected to be completed and ready for full operation in February.
