'A Day Of Prayer' Advocacy
MALOLOS CITY, Bulacan, Philippines — With the theme “Sama-samang Panalangin para sa Lalawigan ng Bulacan,” the Capitol’s “A Day of Prayer” advocacy was launched last Monday with Gov. Wilhelmino M. Sy Alvarado appealing to Bulakeños to spend a minute in prayer each day at 12 noon.
Alvarado picked the serene atmosphere at the mini-forest in this city as the site of the prayer advocacy.
“We gathered here in prayer,” he said “for spiritual upliftment and renewal, this will be a venue to give thanks and show appreciation to the Almighty for His blessings and to ask for His guidance in the performance of varied tasks.”
The governor said the appeal for prayer is also the public’s support and cooperation for the pursuit of peace in the country.
“The government cannot do it (pursue peace) alone. We need the support, cooperation and prayer from every Filipino people,” said the governor.
Before the program ended, representatives from the various religious groups sang the theme song of Bulacan Day of Prayer titled, “Kay Ganda ng Bayan Ko and Lord, Heal our Land” the lyrics of which contains verses from the Holy Bible. (Freddie C. Velez)
