Boat Capsizes

MANILA, Philippines — A motor boat carrying several illegally cut lumbers and three persons reportedly capsized while transiting along the area of Looc in Occidental Mindoro.
 
Lieutenant Commander Algier Ricafrente, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Public Affairs chief said that Coast Guard Station Mamburao information from a certain Bambiand report that an unidentified motor boat with three persons onboard capsize at vicinity seawaters of Barangay Talao-Tao in the town of Looc.
 
PCG Mamburao later directed their detachment in Tilik to verify said report an upon coordination with a certain Eranio Nunez, Barangay Captain of the said coastal community, he disclosed that the reported unregistered motor banca with three persons onboard and loaded with undetermined volume of illegally cut lumbers was hit by strong winds and big waves causing them to capsized.
 
The motor boat and its passengers were rescued by local residents who towed them to Brgy Talao-tao while their cargoes were drifted towards different direction.
 
As of press time, subject vessel and its passengers identified to be Mangyan natives who were found to be in good physical condition were under the custody of Nunez.
