BALER, Aurora, Philippines – Believe it or not, barely a day right after President Benigno Aquino III personally led the inauguration of the new Aurora Memorial Hospital (AMH), the very first patient of the newly-constructed hospital was a provincemate of the President.

Maylen Dabon Estrada, a 17-year-old mother from Barangay San Francisco, Tarlac City gave birth to a healthy baby boy at AMH around 9:40 p.m. Sunday, her attending physician Dr. Roberto Correa said.

“Dabon (who was admitted to the delivery room at 8:05 a.m.) gave birth in a normal spontaneous delivery,” said nurse Claire Senoja, adding that the baby boy weighed 5.9 pounds.

The baby boy’s father, Roberto Estrada, said they will give him the name Mark Baler in honoring the place where the child was born.
