During playtime, babies start to develop not only motor skills through sitting, crawling, turning, and tossing around but also their cognitive skills. This is why it is very important for parents to choose toys that will tickle the child’s natural curiosity to explore different possibilities.

It’s versatile. It’s durable. It’s educational. It’s fun. This is what the Fisher-Price Miracles and Milestones 3-in-1 Activity Gym is all about.

For my 10-month-old daughter Ahren Lucienne, this activity gym is one of those toys that really caught her full attention. For a baby who is not really into toys, this activity gym amused her for more than 20 minutes, which is quite a relief because she was preoccupied for that span of time.

The Fisher-Price Miracles and Milestones 3-in-1 Activity Gym is a wonderful toy that provides babies like Ahren with the right stimulation as they grow and develop. This toy is perfect for babies from birth up to two years old because it can be adjusted depending on the baby’s development.

Tummy time mode is ideal for older babies who can turn on their tummies. You can leave the upper ach over baby’s head and place baby flat on his or her tummy on the fleece-covered floor arch. With this different view, the baby can reach and grasp the toys placed in front of him or her. This activity is a good exercise so baby can develop head control and upper body strength.

Babies that can already sit down on their own will definitely enjoy the gym in its Sit & Play mode. Just put both of the arches down so baby can sit on the floor. Fill the slots with toys so it will surround baby with stimulating fun and encourage different ways of play.

From the moment I assembled the gym, put the toys in each respective slot, and let her sit on the fleece mat, Ahren enjoyed every moment of playing. Since she can already sit down on her own, she enjoyed being in the middle of the activity gym and entertained herself with the colorful toys surrounding her.

This activity gym has four stimulation toys that you can reposition including a flower mirror that comes with a friendly face when rotated, a giraffe with teethable feet and clacker rings, a set of teethable and colorful keys, and a soft ladybug with crinkle wings and high contrast patterns. Ahren’s favorite is the giraffe with textured feet and clackers because she uses it as a teether. Aside from gnawing, nibbling, and biting each part of the toy, she also enjoyed picking the ears of the poor giraffe!

Ahren tried all the possibilities of the toy. With the overhead gym, she enjoyed kicking the toys with her feet and hitting them with her hands while enjoying the sounds they create. When placed on her tummy, she liked pulling the toys in their slots and changed their positions. While sitting up, she was happy to have all the toys on her lap and used them as teethers.

With this gym, Ahren learned to discover and invent her own plays. She tried standing up using the upper arch as a guide, tried to lift herself by clasping the arch above her, and even played with the toys like they were action figures!

Toys like the Fisher-Price Miracles and Milestones 3-in-1 Activity Gym is great to encourage babies to develop different ways of playing because it offers a lot of activities that open up new worlds of discovery. However, adult supervision is very much needed when the baby plays the gym. Parents should be very careful in assembling the toy because there is a need to screw in some parts to ensure that baby will be safe while using it. And since the fleece mat is not thick enough to support the baby when he or she turns and tosses around, make sure that you place a thicker mat, comforter, or puzzle mat beneath the fleece cloth before you let baby play on the floor.
