PRESIDENT Arroyo’s neutral stand in the Chief Justice-Congress controversy is the wisest thing that a president should do. Doing so, Gloria simply respected the constitutional authorities of the other two independent branches of government. In fact, there’s all the more reason that, being head of LakasCMD, she should not interfere since members of her political party are involved in the conflict. Anyway, if she did, she would only be criticized as meddling. This is a classic case of damn you do and damn you don’t.
