MANILA, Philippines--Breaking News: Congressman Ronald Singson has been sentenced to imprisonment of one year and six months by Hongkong Court for possession of illegal drugs.

MANILA, Philippines -- The Department of Education encourages the use of the local dialect as medium of instruction in primary and elementary education.

Based on DepEd Memorandum 19 International Mother Language Day (IMLD)  released by Education Secretary Armin A. Luistro, DepEd supports the position of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Education (UNESCO) for the  mother tongue- based multilingual education whereby teachers are encouraged to use their local dialect (native tongue) in teaching.

MANILA, Philippines-- The scheduled trip to China of the family members of the three Filipino OFWs  Ramon Credo, Sally Villanueva and Elizabeth Batain has been postponed after deferment of the earlier announced executions of the said drug couriers. Vice President Jejomar Binay with Usec. Conejos and the rest of the Philippine delegation will arrive in Manila at 8:00 p.m.  this date via PR 307.

MANILA,Philippines,November 11, 2000— Three hours before my wedding, the back portion of my wedding gown was accidentally burned by the hotel staff while pressing it . Hahah, oh yeah, it created a big , unpardonable hole at the back. Can you imagine how we were able to handle it? My mom thought it was a joke. Hilarious ! MANILA, Philippines - Former Energy Chief Angelo Reyes was reportedly shot in the chest. Reyes was rushed to the Quirino Hospital in Quezon City and reports have it that he died at around 8:30 a.m. He was 65. He is survived by his wife and 5 children.

UPDATE: Reyes was reported to have committed suicide. According to the Eastern Police District, Reyes visited his mother's grave at the Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City where he shot himself on the spot.

A preliminary showed that Reyes had a bullet wound in the heart.
