Olongapo is 2013 PWD-friendliest city

Olongapo City has been named as the 2013 PWD (Persons With Disability)-friendliest city during the Central Luzon Federation of Persons with Disability (CLFPWD) held in Angeles City, Pampanga.

City Social Welfare and Development Office chief Jun Pascua said the award was given to Olongapo for the local government’s effort to help the disabled to cope with daily life in the city.

Pascua furthered that the city’s ordinances, programs, legislation, services, and other activities have helped lift the city from their Central Luzon competitors in terms of helping the disabled.

Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino lauded the local government for the win and added that the city is working hard to improve the lives of disabled residents.

I’ve seen and witnessed how the present Mayor of Olongapo City treats the elderly and persons with disability in his city with utmost respect and genuine care. The city deserves the citation.
