P12.825M allotted for Surigao water projects
SURIGAO CITY – The Regional Office 13 of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG-13) released a total of P12.825 million for water supply projects in the city of Surigao and six towns in Surigao del Norte.
The budget under the Sagana at Ligtas na Tubig sa Lahat (SALINTUBIG) program of the DILG will be allotted for the 23 water projects.
P1.893 million went to Surigao City for their 13 water projects; P4 million to Socorro town for four projects; and P800,000 to Pilar; P1.025 million to Mainit; P1 million to Del Carmen; P507,000 to Malimono; and P3.6 million to Tubod.
Surigao del Norte Gov. Sol Matugas and Surigao City Mayor Ernesto Matugas thanked the government for helping them with the said projects.
SALINTUBIG is a project of the DILG, Department of Health (DOH) and the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), to provide water supply systems to barangays, health centers and resettlement sites. (Mike Crismundo)
