Pauleen on cheating: ‘It would end there’
Pauleen Luna and rumored partner Vic Sotto have been more open about the nature of their relationship lately. While neither has directly labeled it, it seems they are pretty much settled in what they have.
Which is why her playing the other woman in GMA-7’s newest Afternoon Prime offering “The Borrowed Wife” has prompted scribes at the press launch to ask if she could ever forgive her man if he cheats on her.
“Ah, mahirap po siguro ’yun. (laughs) I will cross the bridge when I get there, but most likely it would end there – most likely,” the 25-year-old Kapuso actress-TV host replied.
She added, laughing, “And there would be no bridge anymore!”
That may be a distant prospect for now despite the fact that they do have to endure public scrutiny, particularly with Vic being 44 years Pauleen’s senior.
She admitted it has been “very hard for me, especially with my relationship now, na maraming masyadong sinasabi ’yung mga ibang tao about the relationship.”
Nevertheless, in an interview on “Kris TV,” Vic opened up about marriage, saying, “In a relationship, you talk about that. It’s not a good relationship if you don’t talk about those things, right? If you don’t want to talk about it, parang naglolokohan lang kayo, eh. Kahit naman noong bata pa ako eh hindi naman ako nakikipaglokohan talaga.”
On borrowed time
On “The Borrowed Wife,” Pauleen plays Tessa, best friend to Maricar (portrayed by Charee Pineda/Camille Prats) and eventually a vengeful rival to the latter’s husband, Rico (Rafael Rosell).
Asked if she is like her character when it comes to love, she responded, “Ah, hindi siguro. Kasi si Tessa parang from love, nag-turn na siya into obsession eh. Hindi na siya pumapayag na hindi niya makuha ’yung gusto niya; hindi naman ako ganun.”
She added, “Kung meron mang masasamang kailangang gawin, hindi na.”
Is she open to the idea of being a borrowed wife?
“Siguro of (being) a mom, but not of a wife. Mahirap naman po yata ’yun (na maging borrowed wife). Pero of mom siguro, if it is going to help the children, para po mabuo (’yung family).”
“The Borrowed Wife” also stars TJ Trinidad, Yayo Aguila, Sherilyn Reyes, Kevin Santos, Rhed Bustamante, Zarah Mae Delifero and Ms. Caridad Sanchez. It begins airing on Jan 20.
