PCG: ‘Basyang’ strands 5,178 passengers

(2nd update): The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said that a total of 5,178 passengers were stranded due to tropical storm “Basyang.”

Most of the stranded passengers were in Manila at 3, 035.

As of Friday, the PCG said a total of 197 passengers were stranded in Cebu, 407 in Tagbilaran, Bohol, and 580 in Dumaguete.

More than 80 passengers were stranded in Maasin and 187 in Masbate.

A total of 690 passengers were reported stranded in Northern Mindanao.

Around 240 of which were in Cagayan de Oro, 363 in Surigao, 32 in Ozamis, and 52 in Butuan. (Jomari Guillermo)
