BORONGAN, Eastern Samar, Philippines (PIA) — Residents of Guiuan, Eastern Samar will benefit from a nine-day ongoing medical/dental/surgical mission organized by the Rotary Club of Australia which began yesterday until May 1.
The mission will be joined by the Schoenstatt Sisters of Mary.
Beneficiaries will be accepted at the Guiuan Municipal Gymnasium and those needing operation will be housed at Felipe Abrigo Memorial Hospital (Guiuan, Eastern Samar District Hospital).
PPP to benefit Ivisan
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) — More school children in Ivisan, Capiz are expected to benefit from private -public collaborative partnerships in various projects such as the two-classroom building to be built by the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Manila for the Don Panfilo Mendoza School in Brgy. Matnog and a similar one to be built for the Tigis Primary School in Brgy. Cabugao by the same organization.
The two projects were realized after the local government unit (LGU) requested said organization for assistance in building of additional classrooms for elementary school children here.
Siquijor Barangay Food Terminals
SIQUIJOR (PIA) — Siquijor has availed of some R810,000 from the provincial government’s seven Barangay Food Terminal since the launch of its BFT program, with another recently opened in Brgy. Candaping B, Maria town, through the Little Salvation Multi-Purpose Cooperative (LSMPC).
The program is aimed at boosting local farmers’ income with the reduction of middlemen whose income is usually bigger than the former.
The program also assures locals of affordable, safe and reliable vegetable, dairy and meat products, thus decreasing, if not eliminating altogether the malnutrition in the province.
Flood victims get assistance
TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte - Officers of the Katig-uban Samareños ha Leyte (KASALE) distributed relief assistance at the chapel of sitio Tigawon 1, Barangay Calanipawan to 300 families who were victims of recent floods in the city.
Aurelio D. Menzon, KASALE president, assisted by KASALE directors Joey E. Clarin; Pag-ibig Fund 8 acting regional manager, Dalmacio Grafil; Media Officer Alvin Arpon; and Treasurer Naty Sy, led in the distribution of relief goods to the flood victims from Sitios Tigawon 1 and 2 of Barangay Calanipawan who are mostly Samareños now residing in Tacloban. CAGPIO officers induction slated
ROXAS CITY, Capiz (PIA) — The new set of officers of the Capiz Association of Government Public Information Officers, Inc. (CAGPIO) is set on April 26 here.
The association is led by Engr. Julius Abela of the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) 1st Engineering District.
CAGPIO is composed of Public Information Officers (PIOs) of national government agencies and the Capiz provincial and city governments.
It was organized by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) to be part of a network of public information officers expected to hel disseminate information about government programs and services.
