SAN JOSE, Antique, Philippines (PIA) – Antique’s Christmas expo dubbed “Kinaiya,” an exhibit of the province’s unique and distinct products opened Thursday with such items as foods and delicacies made of indigenous raw materials compatible with this year’s Expo theme, “ Healthy Food, Healthy Lifestyle.”
The display highlighted newly developed products such as food with mushrooms, pickles, wines made of indigenous veggies and fruits, bread and pastries flavored with healthy foods, like malunggay, squash, papaya, native candies, tea made of lemon grass, ginger and many more.

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental (PIA) — The 2011 Best Performing Barangay Health Workers (BHW) of Negros Occidental were named during the annual general assembly and Christmas party of the BHW Federation at the Negros Occidental Multi-Purpose and Activity Center (NOMPAC).
Awarded as the Best Performing BHW was Cornelia Artesano of Himamaylan City (South Central Inter-Local Health Zone), followed by Ma. Teresa Estampa of Valladolid (Midland ILHZ) and Evelyn Gerongani of Kabankalan City (South Negros ILHZ). Negros Occidental Gov. Alfredo G. Marañon, Jr., in his message, said all BHWs will be enrolled in the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program (NOCHP) starting next year. Of 6,500 registered BHWs, only 546 are currently enrolled.
E-blotter launched
CEBU CITY, Cebu (PIA) — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) launched recently the E-Blotter System at the new Fuente Police Office, this city. The E-Blotter System is a technology used to store in just one database records of all cases in every police station in the country.
It is also intended for easy detection of unsolved cases and for making updates on cases that need to be followed-up; the System produces detailed and standardized blotters so that anyone can have easy access to certain cases. Prior to the System’s launch, 15 policemen from 11 police stations in the city and special units underwent training on the Philippine National Police E-Blotter system.

BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar (PIA) – Close to a hundred elementary pupils are set to hone their writing skills in the Regional Schools Press Conference Friday, Dec. 16 until Dec. 19 at the Tanauan Central School, Leyte, after they passed the provincial screening last November 25-27 in Oras Districts.
Division Coordinator Maria Moscare said given the tight budget each school allots for this program, some parents and teachers contributed for the program to push through. There were also contributions reserved for travel and registration needs.
BIR draw
TACLOBAN CITY, Leyte (PIA) – The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) in Eastern Visayas has announced the Premyo sa Resibo (PSR) text raffle promo grand draw scheduled Friday.
The Premyo sa Resibo, according to Ms. Paulina E. Buitizon, BIR Public Information Officer designate, is a program of the BIR where consumers are encouraged to demand official receipts or sales invoices whenever they purchase goods or services which will result to the improvement of government’s tax collection.
Failure or refusal of business establishments to issue a receipt or invoice shall subject the violator to penalties in accordance with the National Internal Revenue Code as amended.
